Former Stereo Pathetic Soul Manure and Magic Pacer member Bobby Hecksher founded the Warlocks group, the band gave its debut concert in 1998. Two years later The Warlocks signed the record contract with Bomp! Records, which released the band's first eponymous EP in 2001. The record became commercially successful and was followed by "Cocaine Blues."
