Davey MacManus (singer and guitarist) and Owen Hopkin (drummer) founded the British band called the Crimea in London in 2002. They recruited Joseph Udwin (bass), Andy Norton (guitar), and Andrew Stafford (keyboards). In 2004 the group signed the music contract with Warner Bros. and issued its first full-length album entitled Tragedy Rocks the next year.
