In 1998 Tim Pagnotta (vocals and guitar), Airin Older (bass), Marko DeSantis (guitar), and Ben Davis (drums) formed the rock band Sugarcult in Santa Barbara, CA. Soon after Davis left the group and was replaced by Kenny Livingston. In 2001, the Ultimatum label released Sugarcult's first album called Start Static. Palm Trees and Power Lines appeared in 2004.
