After graduation of the University of Miami Steve Morse founded the group called Dixie Dregs in 1974. Ten years later the project changed its title on the Steve Morse Band. The same year the groupmembers recorded and released the full-length album named Two Faces. It was followed by the Morse's solo LP titled The Introduction, which was issued on Elektra Records.
