Roger Whittaker was born in Kenya in the family of British immigrants. He moved to Great Britain at the end of the 50's. In the early 60's he signed his first music contract with Fontana Records, which released his debut single entitled "The Charge of the Light Brigade" in 1962. The same year the hit single called "Steel Men" followed.
