The Austrian group Belphegor was formed in 1990 by guitarist/screamer Helmuth. The group quickly had tours across the country, but had to wait nearly a decade to work abroad and to be released internationally. Together with one more guitarist Sigurd, bassist Marius, and a revolving-door drum stool policy, the group's overtly satanic, Scandinavian-style black metal isn't exactly groundbreaking, but very competently executed nonetheless.
