About Traffic
Paper Sun and Hole in My Shoe, off of Traffic's 1967 debut album were quite considerable hits in the UK, setting the road for Traffic's later success, but also planting the seeds for future feuds between the two songwriters on the band, Steve Winwood and Dave Mason. Mason left Traffic soon after the first album was released, leaving Winwood to do most of the songwriting, play bass pedal while playing the organ and sing in concerts. Luckily, Mason joined again in 1968.
