About Sigur Ros
The indie rock scene around the world seems to have fallen for Jonsi's - the lead singer of Sigur Ros – falsetto voice and the fitting ethereal music that the Icelandic band plays. The band received its biggest promotional boost around 1999, when they were featured as NME's single of the week and later went on to open for Radiohead and other acts. This helped Sigur Ros avoid the fate of an indie band from a small distant country with a funny name.
