About Liz Phair
American singer-songwriter Liz Phair was discovered almost by accident. The guitarist of the band Come visited her room-mate in San Francisco and heard Liz Phair's music. He then encouraged her to record it. Later, already part of the Chicago indie music scene, the singer approached her first recording label, Matador Records, who that very same day heard music she recorded earlier under the name Girly sound.
