About Little Richard
To what could have been received as a more conventional style in the 50s, namely a mix of boogie-woogie, gospel and R&B, Little Richard added funky saxophones and raspy vocals. His screams and the rhythm section together created the Little Richard groove, which set the stage for funk to enter.
