Protesting the Vietnam War, Country Joe and the Fish sang anti-war songs in a folk-rock style that was influential on a long list of bands at the time. Electric Music for the Mind and Body, their album released in 1967 was played on early FM progressive radio stations, even though Country Joe and the Fish songs would often last twice as long as regular pop songs.
