Bill Haley and His Comets have been such stars at their heyday that an asteroid was picked to be named after him. It is hard to imagine the Bill Haley asteroid having an influence on the planetary system as big as the singer by the same name had on rock and roll history, by promoting it and setting the stage for such musicians as Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly.
