About Baccara
Euro-dance and pop music peaked in the late seventies with such movies as Saturday Night Fever and Boogie Nights. Leon Deane of RCA was on top of this trend when, in 1977, he met Mayte Mateos and Marķa Mendiola who were dancing for tourists in Spain, named them Baccara and wrote them their biggest hit, Yes Sir, I Can Boogie. The single would go on to sell 16 million copies and Baccara was destined for pop success.
