About Anita Baker
At first, Anita Baker was reluctant to pursue a career in singing. After she had been in an unsuccessful band that was dropped, she worked low paying jobs in and around Detroit, until Otis Smith called her and asked her to record with him. Chastened by her past experiences with the industry, she was reluctant at first, yet in the end she flew to meet him and record an album.
