A one man show, A guy Called Gerald is a leading figure in the development of modern electronic music, in Manchester and in the world at large. A Guy Called Gerald, or simply Gerald Simpson, has helped form the Manchester acid house scene with hits such as Voodoo Ray and Pacific State, which he recorded when still with 808 State. Later, with his label Juice Box Records, Simpson would go on to form the sound of Drum & Bass and jungle styles.
